Some Sidefacts regarding Backdrops

• Materials
  What materials do we offer?

  For backdrops we offer fabric-like polyester material, we generally do not make backdrops on PVC (truck) tarpaulin or mesh. There are simple reasons for this:

   

  Our fabric backdrops (B1 fire protection certified) are tour-tested, easy to fold and therefore very small and easy to transport. PVC or mesh banners have to be rolled up for transportation and take up a lot of valuable space. Every crease remains visible and PVC tarpaulin often reflects and looks greasy.

   

  We are happy to offer you PVC and mesh for other purposes – for example for branding on construction fences, FOH towers etc… 
• B1 Fire Certificates
  All our materials that we use for backdrops have the Din 4102-B1 fire protection certificate.

   

  What does this mean? Materials without the appropriate certification may not actually be hung on any stage (for good reason), whether small or large. Such materials pose a great risk to everyone’s safety. Whether from hot spotlights, pyros or discarded cigarettes – untested materials can ignite very quickly.

   

  With our materials you are on the safe side.
• Sustainability
  We try to pay attention to emissions and short delivery routes during production – another reason why our production site is exclusively in Germany.

   

  We would also like to recommend our high-quality and rockable materials made from recycled yarn. The majority of this yarn is made from recycled ocean plastic, while the rest is made from conventionally recycled material.
• Quality

  Our perfectly trained production team offers consistently high-quality work. Be it in the pre-press stage or during production in our sewing shop. 

  Our materials have been tried and tested on tour, daily assembly and dismantling and daily transportation involve completely different requirements than a trade fair material that is set up and hangs until the end of the trade fair.

• Seams

  Yes, backdrops (almost always) have seams, even if there are ways of printing without seams, but the choice of materials is very limited and the costs are much higher than for sewn backdrops. Small backdrops, e.g. 5 x 3 meters, on the other hand, do not need a seam.

  However, not all seams are the same, especially in different lighting situations it is important that the seams are as good as invisible. Our sewing department has perfected the sewing process to such an extent that we can talk about barely visible seams.

• Eyelets

  We do not use cheap metal eyelets and only use very durable, high-quality plastic eyelets. Metal eyelets often tend to tear or tarnish under load, whereas plastic eyelets are many times more resilient and also blend in better with the visual appearance.

• Afterwork

  All-round eyelets – this is usually offered as standard. However, years of experience in the touring sector have shown this solution to be useless. That’s why we recommend a tunnel at the bottom as standard, where a pipe can simply be inserted for weighting in the event of festival use with high winds. In addition, there are eyelets on the sides for the rare case that a stage offers appropriate attachment points.

  Of course, there are also other assembly options and if you want all-round eyelets, they are also available – at no extra charge, of course. 

• Printfiles

  In a nutshell:

  CMYK, ISOCoated v2, 1:10 + bleed, min. 400 DPI

  A little more detailed:

  Please create your data as follows:

  It is best to set deep black to the values:
  90/70/50/100

  Dimensions please plus 10cm “bleed”, the whole thing in scale 1:10, e.g. for a backdrop with 6×4 meters you create your file as follows:

  62 x 42 cm, please note that the bleed is only applied for production reasons and will not be visible at the end.

  Please set the resolution to 400 dpi or higher and convert fonts to paths.
  

  Vector formats are often best suited as they are “infinitely” scalable.

  However, they are not a prerequisite for your backdrop.

  Before we print the data, a data check takes place and in case of problems we will give you feedback instead of just printing.

  File formats:
